This Friday, June 5, LDVA will host a Women Veterans Celebration at American Legion Post 38 in Baton Rouge from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event features an awards ceremony, resource fair, networking, complimentary lunch, and free professional headshots for attendees. Walk-ins are welcome.

Ok my fellow Louisiana Veterans, I will be all over the state this summer at many different events, meetings, and gatherings. I want to meet you all so don’t be afraid to come say hi.

I also have some new coins, pins, pens, and other items to give to our veterans.

I had the privilege today of being the keynote speaker for the Kinder McRill Cemetery Associations Memorial Day ceremony.

This was the 30th annual event they have hosted in Kinder, Louisiana.

My daughter were able to be flower girls to mark the ceremonial grave site of the fallen.

Two of my former speech students from Kinder HS also gave speeches, they did a wonderful job.

It was a great event.

Thank you all that attended.

Also thank you to VVA chapter 215 for providing a wonderful color guard for the event. Their presentation of colors, the wreath presentation, and the gun salute was marvelous.

It was an honor and privilege to be the guest speaker at Allen Correctional Memorial Day ceremony today hosted by the veteran inmates.

Thanks to Warden Cooley for coordinating my visit and veteran inmate Tink for inviting me and introducing me today to the 70+ inmates in attendance.
