So this is what our Fire Department puts out when they get denied their fire house. Just so everyone is aware the township is going to be asking for $3 million again at the May elections for the same fire hall. Don’t let them bully us into paying more taxes. They have a building at the DPW building with heat to store all of their equipment. And if they want to say their response time will be hindered then they just put themselves in a liable position and the Township Supervisor should have done something and fired the Chief for putting this on the website. You can’t cry and whine to get your way and more or less threaten the safety and well being of our homes to get your way. That is criminal in nature and I plan on filing an ethics complaint on the Township Supervisor and the Fire Chief for this.

I know the elections are over, but this is the Supervisors Report from their first or second meeting. The last line Mark Rice wants to have the board get with Planning and Zoning to have an automatic increase to the Water Ordinance to cover inflation. Now didn’t he say during his campaign there would be no more increases to the water bill as the last increase was sufficient to keep the water department ahead for sometime even with break downs??

I love how he lied so much yet was voted in and everyone just let it happen. Well if it goes to a vote all I can say is they all can be recalled in May.

Just a few more days till the election. Again I am going as a Write in Candidate for Township Supervisor. If you want to see change, then write me in and see that change we all deserve.

Let this sink in.. the fire hall will be on the ballot as well. If passed your taxes will raise. But the real question is this. Since the township was “renting” this space from the EDC, why in the world has prior administration and this administration not do anything over the years to secure funds or put away funds for this over the years so the taxpayers wouldn’t have to pay for it with a milage? To answer that question…. Lack of leadership and lack of accountability.

Do you homeowners really want a 40% hike on your yearly taxes? Come on people like the person said this is mismanagement of funds. I am going as the Write in Candidate for Township Supervisor. If you want this place to change, then show this to everyone and get out and write me in and lets make the changes this place needs before we are all broke and can’t afford our homes.

Alright this is not done yet people. I am going to go as a write in candidate for the general election. Mark Rice waited till after the primary to put out there they now want to build a new fire hall and charge you the tax payer for it. If you all want your taxes to keep going up like I said he was going to do, then get everyone out and write my name in for Township Supervisor. This is going to be the only way this stuff stops.

So I am not sure I agree with the results. 393 people voted for Supervisor and 501 voted for the Kinross EMS Mileage? So the 108 people didnt vote for supervisor on their ballot? Well when I went to vote my ballot went into the bottom of the machine as they were not counting the votes yet and I was voter number 87. My son was voter 88. That went on for some time. So the Kinross EMS Mileage passed by 3 votes, enough to not contest it. How convenient is that. I am for the mileage but lets do it properly. I said yesterday they would rig this vote and now I believe they have.

Ok everyone who can vote for Kinross Township Supervisor, voting is August 6th. Less than 10 days away. If I win the primary I am in unless of course someone goes as a write in during the General Election

Here are the goals if I am elected:

New equipment through grants for the golf course to make the golf course a money maker.

Get with a certain entity (only to be named if elected) to get a pharmacy built out here.

Lower the water bill to a reasonable rate and force the State to pay its fair share like they should be doing for the prison system.

Accountability for all departments starting with grounds keeping to include the cemetery and Duke Lake. I will personally over see those two areas and ensure they are up to standards the way they are supposed to be even if it means paying out of my wages a person from my company to take care of both places to include the bathrooms at Duke Lake.

Expand on the food pantries with the local churches at no cost to the tax payer.

Get the rec center more funding through community grants so we can build a multi use complex that will be used as an Ice Rink in the winter, and a revenue maker in the spring and summer months for other venues.

I will work on becoming an accredited Veteran Service Officer so our veterans like myself can use the township to get help with their claims.

I will have a Deputy Supervisor (to be named if elected) who will hold me accountable.

Build a relationship with the tribe so the code enforcement officer can do their job more easily and respectfully.

Build a working relationship with the community so we can make the township great again because without the community members we have no township.

If you want the same issues year after year then by all means vote for one of my opponents. If you want to see change with fiscal spending responsibility, our EMS and Fire to be able to sustain a healthy relationship within the community by being supported and have a living wage, then you need to vote for change. Budgets are always going to be an issue, but if you don’t have means to sustain growth your budgets will never grow and in the 16 years I have lived here all prior administrations have never allowed for any growth that would allow for bigger budgets and better wages for any of the first responders that we employ forcing them to leave and go to areas that pay better wages. That has to stop. Same with all other areas we employ people. We need to ve able to keep talent we have no lose them to other entities that pay $5-$6 more per hour with better benefits.

Again if you want to see change that will not cost the tax payer then vote for me. But if you are ok with your taxes going ho with no explanation, being called names at township meetings, having mediocre pay then by all means vote for one of my opponents.

Mark Rice is having a meet and greet on June 27th and invited the other candidates. I for sure will be there. I went to the township meeting last night June 17th and he accused me of slandering his name and blatantly lied and said he never said what he said at Duke Lake to me about cleaning the bathrooms myself or that he would answer my questions at the end of the township meeting if I asked some. You know its one thing to be an upstanding politician but to be a political liar is just pathetic. If you can’t take the heat while in public how are you supposed to take the heat in the most important job in the township?? Again vote for Emil Mattson for Township Supervisor if you want real change and the TRUTH.

I keep getting told by Mark Rice and some of the others that the things I want to change cannot be done. Why?? Is it because they don’t know how to do it?? Maybe they don’t care. Maybe the changes I want to bring will hurt friends of theirs who have certains stake in the community with certain businesses. Maybe knowing I am the type that will force accountability and will look into prior actions of the prior administration makes them afraid of what could happen. All I know is that I want growth here, I want my children to be able to live here and not worry that the Township is broke and because they are broke the bills keep going up. I want the Rec center to grow and have more baseball for the children and more basketball. I want the golf course to be bigger and better and be the money maker it can be with state of the art equipment ready for money making tournaments. We need a pharmacy so we are not having to travel in the winter to get our meds. We need to have more. We need to keep the cemetery grounds cleaned and looking like a place you would be proud to have your family member laid to rest in. Right now its an embarrassment and we have Soldiers interned there also and that is the biggest slap in the face to any soldiers family (well any family for that matter) to have their loved ones laid to rest and have it look the way it does.

Change is what we need. And you will not get that unless you vote for me. I am not in this for the money. I will donate most of mt wages back into this community. Why?? Because I want to make our community great again. I want each one of you to be proud to call Kinross/Kincheloe home.

So this is the mentality of what our elected officials who want to become Township Supervisor have. I was at the Kids Fishing Day and Mark Rice was there. The bathroom is disgusting and needs cleaned. When asked who takes care of it Mark states it has been to hard to keep clean and they have tried for 5 years. I told Mark thats just an excuse. He said “if you think you can fu…ng keep it clean then clean it your self”. I said you know Mark its good to see you at a public function like this where no labor is involved but where were you for the Gun Range and Duke Lake cleanups? He said what days were those on? I said what does that have to do with anything? He said I have a job. I said so do I. I said you dont have any vacation time to use? He said if I use vacatiob time for all the community cleanup (which is only 2 a year for 2 hours for a total of 4 hours) I would have no personal time for myself. I said so your personal time means nothing for your community. He said I am not going to argue with you. He said all you do is go to the board meetings and bitch about what we are doing wrong and never let us answer your questions. I said you never answer my questions because you claim the board is not allowed to. He then said I am not going to stay here and let you ruin my day and he left. People if this is what you want as your Township Supervisor, one that connot even have a debate or stand being called out over his wrongs as he is in charge of the grounds, yes keeping the grounds and the toilets cleaned is his job and the grass and toilets were disgusting for a kids fishing day that is supposed to be a special day. But if that is what you all want for your leader, then by all means vote for him but if you want to see this township changed in a positive way, then vote for me Emil Mattson and vote for change in all aspects of this community.

A little bit who I am and why you should vote for me as your Township Supervisor.

I am a Veteran of the US Air Force and have an Executive Juris Doctor Degree from Purdue University Global.

I will put transparency back into our Township with an open door policy and let the community have a true voice on what the goals are for the well being of the community and the growth of the community so that the future generations can sustain a healthy and prosperous future here in this community.

There will be no favoritism. The good ole boy era will end the day I get into office if I am elected. The days of turning a blind eye for friends stops. We all will be held accountable for the same ordinances or those ordinances will not be enforced on the people. I see too many times our current leaders enforce grass cutting ordinances yet the township fails to cut the grass around the township in a timely manner. Issues like that will not happen and will be addressed in a swift manner.

Reckless approach to spending and not having or not knowing all of the facts before voting on an agenda item will not take place. I have seen in the board meeting where departments have asked for items, been approved for an amount then came back a month later because they found something else they liked adding additional funds to their quote. That will not happen as that is reckless spending costing the tax payers money.

It is time to set the standards higher and offer more community service from the elected officials. I will be the one leading that charge. As an elected official you are supposed to be in your community doing good. I will engage myself in all clean up efforts for the community, any type of activity that will be to help a community member I will be a part of. As an elected official it is our duty to have a say for the community, get a pay for that say and to do community service to show the people you care about your community and not one of our current board members who are running for supervisor have engaged in any type of community service this year when we have had the Gun range and Duke Lake clean up. I was there because I live in this community and want this community to look nice.

Also I would like to add that I plan on donating 75% of my pay back into the community to help the community and members that are struggling with grass cutting, snow removal and setting up a food pantry.
