In case you missed it…..

The Walmart dog is safe with me. A young lady had been going to Walmart and feeding him nightly and gained his trust. A couple hours after I left Walmart Friday night they let me know they had a leash on him and I came and collected him.

I am so grateful for her help, I cannot be everywhere all the time and I do have days off.

Tomorrow he will need a foster or he will be placed with the shelter. I cannot just hand out unvetted dogs, and the city does not facilitate adoptions. But fostering saves lives, and you should try it! Ask me how, I know many great rescues always looking for fosters.

The Friday night plan:

Bait the trap
Go to the gym

Reality:

run into the dog
Never make it to the gym
Fox scares dog away from trap
Raccoons are probably eating the $20 bait

Regroup tomorrow and relocate the trap.

Please do not feed this dog no matter where you see him, it makes it harder to get him in the trap if he’s not hungry. He will not starve. But my time and effort will be wasted if everyone in town gives him treats and meals.

Pretty please.

Ghost was one of 10 dogs removed from a Gregg County property on the outskirts of Kilgore, she was tied up in the saddest conditions. But she was so sweet when we took her to safety.

Update: adopted!

Prepare for me to spam you with Kilgore dogs you should go adopt at Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center!

This is Doritos, he was picked up from Lexington CRT apartments. Who knows where he was really from, but I have theories.

The shelter describes him as “This little man here is a ball of energy. He is super sweet and it’s his second nature to walk like a human”

Go adopt your new, fully vetted best friend.

I’m looking for the Walmart GSD, he is not enticed by basic treaty treats. I went to get him some chicken and he was gone when I got back.

I cannot get close enough with a leash and I don’t have a trap big enough, but I’m trying. First time I’ve actually found him.

Give me your real time sightings today and I’ll head that way.
