Kewanna Water Department - Fire Hydrant Flushing Announcement
The Kewanna Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants on Wednesday, June 17th and Thursday, June 18th.
If weather conditions prevent us from completing the work those days, flushing will be rescheduled for the following week on Wednesday, June 24th and Thursday, June 25th.
This routine maintenance helps maintain high water quality and ensures our fire hydrants are ready for emergency use.
What to expect:
During this process, some customers may temporarily experience cloudy or discolored water. This is completely normal and does not affect the safety of your drinking water. We recommend running your cold water taps for a few minutes until the water runs clear. It is also advisable to avoid laundry or using hot water during active flushing.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while we perform this important work to keep your water system reliable.

Town of Kewanna – Public Information Meeting
The Town of Kewanna invites residents to attend an upcoming Lead Service Line (LSL) Public Information Meeting to learn more about an important LSL investigation project.
Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026
Time: 4:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M.
Location: Kewanna Town Hall (308 S Logan St)
This meeting will provide information regarding:
- Upcoming Right-of-Entry Forms that will be mailed to impacted residents
- The potholing process and what to expect
- Project overview and next steps
- Opportunity to ask questions and speak with project representatives.

PUBLIC NOTICE
We have had a mechanical failure at the water plant and will be pumping unfiltered water into the system. There is a potential you will see more iron in the water than usual. The water is SAFE and is still chlorinated. We are working on resolving the issue as soon as possible.
