The HDC Tour of Kew Gardens, part of the Six to Celebrate award, is only 1 week away!

Hopefully, we'll be able to break the 7-week record of rainy Saturdays in NYC on October 28th!

Remember to register with Historic Districts Council if you want to attend. And if you can't make it this time, we hope you'll be able to join us in upcoming tours and events!

We'll be starting at Queens Borough Hall, and ending with a tour of Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery - "Where History Comes Alive" before their Trunk or Treat event starts at 2 PM.

Please register and pay at the HDC’s website if you’d like to attend the tour led by Adrienne Onofri, a NYC-based journalist. We hope to be able to bring you more tours of the neighborhood in the coming months!

We invite you to embark on a captivating walking tour of Kew Gardens in Queens. On the morning of July 29th, at 10 am, prepare to be swept away by the beauty and rich history of this neighborhood.

The Historic Districts Council is working with The Kew Gardens Improvement Association and the Kew Gardens Preservation Alliance to offer this tour as part of our 2023 Six to Celebrate program.

This tour will shine a spotlight on the outstanding single-family homes that grace the neighborhood, as well as significant apartment complexes, religious institutions, and the iconic Lefferts Blvd bridge lined with retail and commercial establishments.

The tour will be led by Adrienne Onofri, a New York City-based journalist specializing in travel and entertainment, and author of books such as Walking Queens: 30 Tours for Discovering the Diverse Communities, Historic Places, and Natural Treasures of New York City’s Largest Borough.

The Friends of Maple Grove are having their annual Spirits Alive event this Saturday! Join them for a day of fun and history 🥳

Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery - "Where History Comes Alive"

Join us at Maple Grove on Saturday 10/1/22 for Spirits Alive!
RAIN UPDATE: The weather in the afternoon on Sat. 10/1/22 may not allow us to have the event outside as originally planned and most of our actors are not available on Sunday, when there still may be an issued with rainy weather!

If it is raining Sat. afternoon (which is most likely based on the hourly forecast), we will bring the performance inside at the Center at 127-15 Kew Gardens Rd. at 2:30 PM. The actors will tell their stories only once, and the performance will run for less than one hour. We hope to see you tomorrow rain or shine!
