For almost a century, the Barnes building has been part of our community. It's been home of the Fairmont Dragons and the Barnes Bulldogs. It has been a preschool, alternative school, central office, and night school for business classes... And so much more! Soon it will start a new chapter with COhatch, and we are so excited to see this story unfold.

Earlier this month, the Fairmont West Class of 1971 and Fairmont East Class of 1976 headed back to school to celebrate their milestone reunions. While there's been some changes in the last 50-55 years, these Dragons and Falcons still knew their way around campus!

Congratulations to the 2026 Fairmont Performing Arts Hall of Fame Inductees! All are welcome to celebrate with inductees Ryan Borger, Ryan Chatterton (2001), and Danielle Kelley (2001) on Monday, September 21 at 7pm in the Fairmont Auditorium.

Chester A. Roush Educational Hall of Fame Nomination Deadline approaching!

Nominations for induction into the Roush Hall of Fame are due on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026. The committee will consider individuals who have contributed to the pursuit of excellence in education within the Kettering Schools. Proud to support the schools and excited for kids to begin using these flex spaces!

It’s a big week for Firebirds! An exciting addition this year to KFMS is a flex space within each unit. Students and staff have the opportunity to test out furniture and different uses of the space as the design phase of the new buildings continues. All materials have been donated by patrons at no cost to the district—this way, when the time comes, the district will know what works and what might not before using district dollars. Thank you KCS Forward Foundation and Ruetschle Architects for making this possible!
