Congratulations to East Kentwood Girls Basketball Coach Jennifer Bailey on being named the 2026 Michigan Positive Athlete Girls Coach of the Year!

This statewide honor recognizes coaches who make a lasting impact through leadership, character, and the positive culture they create for student-athletes both on and off the court.

Out of more than 15,500 nominations nationwide, fewer than 1% were selected as award winners — making this an incredible and well-deserved achievement for Coach Bailey and the East Kentwood community.

Coach Bailey will be honored at the Positive Athlete Michigan Awards Ceremony on June 10 at Comerica Park.

It was great to meet with students from East Kentwood High School. I always enjoy hearing from young people who are engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and thinking about how they can make a difference in their communities.
