This week we observe the Days of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust in an annual 8-day commemoration.

It is critical to remember and share these memories that have shaped history. We must use this as an opportunity to learn and continue to grow from the denial, anti-Semitism and racism that the Holocaust was established upon.

Use this time to educate yourself and remember the victims.

Amanda Crump felt it was only right she was with her lovable pooch when she took her last breath, she wrote: "When any of my animals have been put to sleep, I have stayed with them.

"It was especially important when my dog went to the rainbow bridge. She had been so loyal and comforted me during some rough times so it was only right I was with her when she had her last breath the whole family was with her including her best buddy and as she went to sleep he just laid down beside her.

"Heartbreaking but he knew she had gone. In my opinion, no pet should be on its own when they are put to sleep. Yes, it is hard, yes it is painful but that will be the last good thing you can ever do for your pet."
