Carmel NY Democrats We are a diverse Democratic committee in Carmel/Mahopac NY. We need you to shake up our town's one-party rule and make our voices heard! Then join us.

We are the Town of Carmel Democratic Committee, a group of very dedicated activists in Mahopac and Carmel NY facing big odds in our small town. But we hold true to Margaret Mead's wise words, to "never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." Are you sick of one party rule in our town that stifles our voices? Are y

ou sick of the same people getting elected again and again who do very little to improve our community? Are you simply afraid to tell your friends and neighbors that you are a Democrat, perhaps out of fear of retribution? Together we can slowly but surely change the face of politics in this wonderful small town we call home.

DiNapoli has done so much for New Yorkers everywhere in our state. Yarris will be the leader we need here in Putnam.

I thank Tom DiNapoli for his endorsement.

His stewardship of New York State’s Pension fund shows fiscal responsibility is about more than spread sheets — it’s about keeping promises to the people who keep our communities running. For our first responders, law enforcement, CSEA workers, and retirees, smart investment means security, dignity, and a future they earned. This is the kind of leadership Putnam deserves: disciplined with taxpayer dollars, and always mindful of the families behind them.

Primaries are an important although sometimes difficult aspect of American Democracy. In light of our current international conflicts and the irresponsible actions orchestrated by the White House, it is essential for Dems in CD17 to nominate a candidate with Cait Conley’s knowledge and expertise. It is disappointing that another Democratic candidate would echo the lies of the Republican opponent.

November is going to be hard. It is going to take the right candidate to meet this moment and flip this seat. The stakes of this election could not be higher, we need to get Congress back to working for the American people, not a corrupt President. I know I can beat Mike Lawler, but I can’t do it alone. Thank you for being in the arena with me.

The MPL Trustees Election and Budget Vote is Tuesday June 2nd, one week from today!

On Monday June 1st at 6:30pm you can meet the trustee candidates and ask Director Michele Capozzella and the board members any questions you may have regarding the proposed 2026-2027 budget at the Annual Meeting

Mahopac Central School District residents should have received a copy of the MPL Budget Newsletter in the mail. The newsletter has all the information regarding the vote, including candidate statements and the proposed 2026-2027 budget. You can also read the newsletter online: https://mahopaclibrary.org/
