The cities insurance company has a great newsletter about cities trimming trees and destroying them. It's from August of 2003. Make sure you know who owns the tree before trimming or removing it.

I got asked a while ago if I think the city should force owners to maintain their properties. I THINK THE CITY SHOULD MAINTAIN WHAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIRST!!!!!!!!!!! There are several properties that the city is responsible for that are not being maintained to the same standards that the rest of the citizens are expected too.
