🌺 ALOHA FRIDAY from Parrots in Paradise! 🦜❤️

Around here, “residents” come with feathers, fur, hooves, wings, and VERY strong opinions. With so many mouths to feed and so many lives to care for, our monthly operating costs are adding up to about $60,000 a year. 😳

So today we’re launching FEED THE PARROTS! 🥰🦜 Every donation helps keep our flock fed, cared for, and living their best island life.

And here’s the fun part… Huli will personally hear about YOU! For every donation, we’ll tell Huli your name, and he’ll send you a very special MAHALO from the flock.*❤️

Feed a parrot. Make a difference. Get a Huli mahalo.
Sounds like a pretty good deal to us! 😉

Meet Ohia,❤️

She is the matriarch of Parrots in Paradise — a Scarlet Macaw who has lived a long, remarkable life and carries her years with unmistakable dignity. She is observant, powerful, independent… and definitely not interested in taking anyone’s advice. 😂

Over the years, there have even been attempts to find her a feathered companion. It didn’t quite go according to plan. Ohia made her feelings VERY clear. She seemed to prefer her own company.

And honestly? That’s Ohia.

She has chosen her people, her space, and her way of life. She doesn’t need to be softened, changed, cuddled, or paired. She simply needs what every elder deserves: respect, safety, and a place to call home. 🌺

She is one of the sanctuary’s great originals — a living piece of its history and a reminder that every parrot has a story, a personality, and a voice of its own.

Meet ʻŌhiʻa. ❤️🦜

She is the matriarch of Parrots in Paradise — a Scarlet Macaw who has lived a long, remarkable life and carries and wears it well. She is strong, watchful, fiercely independent, and very much her own bird.

ʻŌhiʻa doesn’t need to be cuddled or paired or changed. She simply needs what every elder deserves: respect, safety, and a place to call home.🌺

**TALK STORY 🐑🦜**

The sheep and parrots at PIP have a long-standing understanding… but apparently, the parrots still get a little jealous. 😂

A photographer was focused on Mama and Baby Sheep when the flock noticed the camera had abandoned them.

**“HEY! WE’RE OVER HERE!”** 🦜📸

Nothing gets past the feathered paparazzi at Parrots in Paradise. 😂

🌺 TALK STORY: CHRIS & ROOM SERVICE 🦜🛎️

On Chris’s days, he travels the sanctuary with fresh feed and water bowls, checking in with each flock and reviewing the day’s plans with his feathered guests. Honestly, it’s the kind of service you’d expect at a high-end resort. 🌴🦜✨

The only difference? No tip necessary. 😂 An occasional beep, cheer, laugh or bell ring is apparently all the five-star service feedback we need!

And how did Larry, Bomber, Peepers and Bert feel about today’s room service? 🛎️

Absolutely no complaints from the penthouse. 😂🦜💚

🌺 TALK STORY: ANGEL 😇🦜

Angel is aggressive. We all know it. He knows it. His buddies know it. 😂 And honestly? He’s perfectly OK with that. So are we.

Instead of fighting his personality, we lean into it — and when we do, Angel is an absolute HOOT. 😆 He’s full of hellos, winks, head bobs, attitude and enough personality to fill the whole aviary. 👀😉🦜 And once he decides you’re his friend? He’ll follow you just about anywhere.

That’s the magic of rescue. ❤️ You don’t have to change who they are to love them. You learn who they are, respect their boundaries, earn their trust… and eventually, you get the winks, the hellos and the very enthusiastic feathered friendship that comes with it.

Angel isn’t for everyone. But he’s exactly right for us. 🥰🦜

🌺 TALK STORY: THE AMAZON VILLAGE 🦜💛💙

Welcome to the neighborhood! 😂🦜 A whole collection of Blue-fronted and Yellow-headed Amazons, each one doing exactly what they do best — singing, squawking, chatting, arguing, flirting, supervising and generally keeping everybody informed. 🎶📣🤣

This is what a successful village looks like: everybody has a place, everybody has a voice, and everybody benefits from having a community around them. 💚🌴 Some are loud, some are quiet, some are nosy… and some are absolutely certain they are in charge. 👀😂

It may look like organized chaos to us, but to them? It’s home. ❤️🦜

🌺 TALK STORY: PEEWEE & LARRY 🦜🦜💚

Meet PeeWee and Larry — one handsome Blue-fronted Amazon and one gorgeous Double Yellow-headed Amazon. Same family, totally different personalities… and somehow, it works perfectly. 😍

They’re the perfect complimentary couple: PeeWee sings, Larry listens. 🎶👂😂 One provides the entertainment, the other provides the audience. No competition, no drama… just two good-looking friends living their best lives together. 💚🦜

Sometimes the best relationships are simply about knowing your role. 😂

🌺 HULI HAS HIS PRIORITIES STRAIGHT. 🦜📺😂

We hear there are potentially dangerous hurricanes headed toward Hawai‘i, so everyone is scrambling to prepare, secure the aviaries, stock supplies, and keep 100++ feathered residents safe.

HULI's RESPONSE?
“Hurricanes? 🌪️ Cool. Does this mean I can finally catch up on my shows?” 📺🍿😂 Priorities, Huli. PRIORITIES.
