In 1975, the name “Lioness Clubs” and the Scripted, “L” were officially approved for use by Lions Club International. One of the most significant events in the clubs history was the inclusion of men into the Lioness Clubs, and consequently women into Lions Clubs. Lioness Clubs cooperate with their sponsoring Lions Club on community service projects, in addition to creating their own fundraiser and civic activities. There are more than 1500 known Lioness Clubs throughout the world who have dedicated their efforts to the goals of Lionism.
