We have arrived safely to Indiana today on our way to the 99th Annual National FFA Convention and Expo. In route we stopped at Unverferth Manufacturing in Kalida, Ohio for a tour of the plant and stopped in Celina for a visit at MVP dairy. At both locations we learned how farmers in Ohio are growing their business and working to create great products for many people. We are appreciative of the time taken so we could learn and experience some of the best! We are looking forward to tomorrow and what day 2 has to offer us!

National Farmers Day! Thank you to farmers everywhere, big or small, no matter the kind, we take time to recognize your contributions so we can have food, fiber and fuel each day to survive. If you have had a good meal today, clothing to wear and a shelter to call home, it's likely there is a farmer to thank! Also, if you didn't know, 1/3 of all food we eat is because of a honey bee and it's most important job, pollination!

Our chapter teamed up with Zach from Sandusky County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Make A Difference Day committee to offer students in PK-4 an opportunity to learn about soil textures and the importance of winterizing plants. This day was also made possible through a grant from ServeOhio. What a great day to be in the garden at school. Thank you to all those who volunteered and worked behind the scenes to make the day possible!
