BOARD MEETING TONIGHT!! 👉 7pm 🗓️⏰

Tonight is a Board Workshop. 🤓📝📑

At workshops, district leadership presents information to the board based on the district’s goals and planning for the year.

Tonight, we will hear from leadership on the Balanced Scorecard.

The Scorecard is reviewed and updated annually based on the District’s Strategic Plan.

I’ve attached a photo of the Scorecard for this year.

Of course, the budget is top priority, but that doesn’t mean we don’t continue moving forward to be the best district to educate our kids!

In addition to the balanced scorecard, there are additional goals the Superindentent will share.

One is near and dear to my heart…

1) Cultivate the autonomy and agency of all staff.

✨We want our staff to have autonomy in their professional practice.

✨ We want to to ensure our staff feels their voices are heard and that what they have to say matters.

✨ We want the staff to use their strengths, passions and professional expertise to support department, building and district goals.

YOU MATTER! Your thoughts and ideas matter.

And it’s all for the betterment of our kids, their learning and their opportunities and sense of belonging.

It all works together!

Tune in tonight! Watch the replay.

Always let me know what questions and thoughts YOU have! I love to chat!

North Kansas City Schools Convocation is ENERGY and INSPIRATION.

Another great show on Friday to kick off an amazing school year and remind ALL staff what an amazing impact they can have on our students and our community as a whole.

Thank you to Dr. Daniels for sharing her inspiring story and finding a way to connect it in a way that EVERYONE could understand and grow from.

A challenging year ahead, possibly. But working collaboratively and keeping our eye on the ball will carry us through.

Have an amazing year!!

🗳️ Today’s the day MO friends!! Time to VOTE! 🗳️

In case you missed it - this is a BIG one. They’re trying to make it small by putting it on an August ballot that you might forget…but NOT today!!

As I’ve been mentioning - I recommend a NO Vote on Amendments 4 and 5. 🙅🏻‍♀️

DO NOT let a government that is feeding their own ideals take away your ability to be heard OR make fiscal decision based on “hopes”

Missouri is NOT Texas, NOT Florida and NOT Tennessee. No one is actually lining up to do business in Missouri, that’s just the HOPE.

Let’s focus on SAFETY, HEALTH, INFRASTRUCTURE, HOUSING and EDUCATION…you wanna bring more businesses here? And take care of us that call Missouri home? Let’s start there!

I recommend a YES vote on the Kansas City questions for those of us living within the city limits.

Q1 Affordable Housing Bond

Q2 Refurbish city-owned buildings like Municipal Hall (I literally was wondering about this when we took our daughter to Municipal for a musical recently. A beautiful historic building worth caring for!)

Q3 Central City economic development 1/8 cent tax

Q4 Infrastructure to water and sewer pipes Bond

Thank you for “listening” these past few weeks as we share our thoughts on what’s happening in our great state!! We CAN make it better.

But you GOTTA VOTE!

I was amazed to hear that this primary will will bring out MORE VOTERS since a 2004 primary…

But STILL…only 3️⃣2️⃣ % of Missourians are expected to vote! 😱

Let’s shock them and make it even more! 😎💪

Give a 👍 after you’ve voted today!!

North Kansas City Schools Board of Education recently approved a “Statement of Concern” regarding Amendment 5.

Link to the Public Meeting info in comments!

The Board of Education remains focused on what is best for our kids and our district as a whole. We voted 7-0 on this Statement as we are all in agreement that ending the State Income Tax with no solid plan forward is NOT what is best for our community and certainly not our students.

We are ALREADY looking to reduce our expenditures by $16M, based on the state ALREADY not fully funding the Foundation Formula. If this amendment passes, we could be looking at losses of $31M to our budget.

Unacceptable. Especially when there is no plan in place on how the state plans to make up the revenue loss other than “authorize the expansion of sales and use taxes” - aka - a blank check.

Early voting is open (see earlier post for dates, times and locations), or if you prefer to vote ON Election Day, mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 4!!
