Kansas City, Missouri ‘s 220 parks, 135 miles of boulevards and parkways, 47 fountains, 87 sculptures and monuments, 27 lakes, 38 miles of trails and bikeways, five golf courses, four museums and hundreds of special events. Highlights include: Swope Park, one of the country’s largest urban parks, and home to the Zoo, Starlight Theatre, Lakeside Nature Center and the annual Ethnic Enrichment Festi

val; Loose Park Rose Garden featuring 4,000 roses of nearly 150 varieties; and Shoal Creek Living History Museum, a village of more than 20 authentic 19th century buildings. In addition, ten unique community centers--featuring fitness equipment, classes, pools, tennis courts, gymnasiums, walking tracks--located throughout Kansas City, will help keep you and your family in shape.

With the help of the Daughters of the British Empire, today we raised a new British flag at the “Married Love” statue recognizing Sir Winston Churchill and Lady Clementine Churchill. This sculpture is located at the SW corner of the Wornall Road Bridge.

Fun Fact: some of Churchill’s paintings were used on Hallmark Christmas cards!

Kansas City North Community Center celebrated STEM week with an egg drop activity 🥚🪂 Summer camp participants worked hard to prevent their egg from cracking from the fall by creating soft-land contraptions!

⚽️ Our annual Mayor’s Nights programs officially kicked off this Saturday with a soccer extravaganza at 9th and Van Brunt! The party had it all: competitive play, awesome raffles (including a ball signed by pro players!), amazing performances from local talent, face painting, music, and activities.

Thank you to our awesome partners who came together to help make this a great event! 💚
