Happy Thanksgiving, Kannapolis!

Today our community gives thanks for the wonderful neighbors who make this city feel like home and for those serving today to keep us safe and supported: our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, healthcare workers, and city staff on duty. Your willingness to serve while others gather with family is deeply appreciated.

Wishing every home in Kannapolis a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving. 🍁🧡

Even though I will not officially take the oath until Monday, December 8, the work to serve Kannapolis has already begun.

Over the past few weeks, I have been listening, learning, and connecting across our city—attending City Council meetings, celebrating our community at the Village Park Christmas Tree Lighting, meeting with leaders and residents, and joining a local nonprofit banquet supporting individuals overcoming addiction.

Each conversation has centered around one question: How do we best serve the people of Kannapolis?

Hearing directly from neighbors, community partners, and dedicated public servants has helped shape the priorities and relationships that will guide the work ahead.

✨ With that same heart of service, I would love for you to join me for my official swearing-in ceremony:
📅 Monday, December 8
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Kannapolis City Hall (401 Laureate Way, Kannapolis, NC)

It would mean so much to have friends, neighbors, and supporters there as we begin this new chapter—together. ❤️🇺🇸

Sharing my thoughts and commitment following recent events in our city:

Our downtown has experienced some challenging moments recently, yet what continues to define Kannapolis is the strength and resilience of our people. My heart is with those affected and with every neighbor who loves this city.

As your Councilwoman-Elect, I want you to know that I am aware of these recent events and remain committed to working closely with our police department, city staff, and community partners to support safety and prevention efforts across Kannapolis. Our neighborhoods and downtown areas must continue to be places where families feel safe, connected, and supported.

I want to commend the Kannapolis Police Department for their swift and professional response in both situations. Their dedication to our residents reflects the excellence and integrity we value in public service. As I prepare to take office, I plan to work with City Council and our public safety leaders to strengthen communication, prevention, and collaboration that keep our community safe and thriving.

Last night, thousands gathered at Village Park for the annual tree lighting and the opening of the Celebration of Lights. That moment—filled with joy, hope, and community—reminded us of who we are as Kannapolis. While recent challenges are concerning, they do not define us. I encourage everyone to keep our city in prayer, look out for one another, and stay engaged as neighbors. Together, we will continue to build a city where hope, compassion, and community shine brightly this Christmas season and beyond.

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Veterans 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor every veteran here in Kannapolis and across our nation. Men and women whose courage, sacrifice, and steadfast love of country have protected the freedoms we cherish. You have worn the uniform with pride, served with conviction, and inspired all of us to live with greater gratitude and purpose.

I also want to thank the veterans in my own family: my uncles, grandfathers, father-in-laws, and cousins, who answered the call to serve. Their stories remind me that freedom has a family thread, woven through generations willing to stand in the gap for others.

One story I’ll never forget is that of my uncle, a “tunnel rat” in the Vietnam War. Though his tour had ended, he stayed longer, saying he didn’t want someone else to have to come and sacrifice their life. That quiet courage is a powerful reminder that true service means putting others first.

To every veteran and military family — thank you. Kannapolis is stronger, freer, and more united because of you.

Humbled. Grateful. Ready to Serve. ♥️

Waking up this morning filled with gratitude and awe at what God has done and what our community has accomplished together. Last night, I was elected to serve on the Kannapolis City Council — and I’m truly humbled by the trust you’ve placed in me.

From conversations on front porches to chats in coffee shops, this campaign was never just about signs or slogans. It was about neighbors. Faithful, fearless neighbors who believe in working together to build a stronger Kannapolis.

Now, the real work begins to listen, serve, and lead with integrity, courage, and common sense.

And yes… I’ll be out collecting yard signs soon 😉 because good neighbors (and good stewards) know how to reuse what still works!

Thank you, Kannapolis. Let’s lead well, together.

I won!! Thanks for all your support.
