The Kalamazoo Self Portraiture Project was created to help others recognize how the act of painting empowers others, boosts creativity, and builds community. This tuition-free project invited Kalamazoo residents of all ages to participate in a self-portrait painting workshop. All of the paintings created in these workshops were framed and exhibited at the Eleanor R. Devries Gallery at Western Mich

igan University. This project was made possible by The Friends of the Richmond Grant from The Frostic School of Art at WMU, Park Trades Center, The Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation, Tendercare of Kalamazoo Rehabilitation and The Youth Development Center of Kalamazoo.
