Happy 50th birthday (and office upgrade!) to the State Health Planning and Development Agency. Dr. Jack Lewin is the first to raise his hand to take on new tasks that will improve health in our State - even without additional manpower. This morning, Lala was approximately 700 miles east-southeast of Hilo and moving west. The storm is forecast to get stronger and could reach to hurricane strength as it nears the Hawai‘i islands this Saturday.

Gov. Green has signed an emergency proclamation declaring a state of emergency. This proclamation activates the Major Disaster Fund, authorizes the activation of the Hawai’i National Guard and other direct state agencies and resources for emergency response.
