To paraphrase Paul Simon -- "Still ROCKING after all these years." This goes to ROCK STOCK Saturday (Sept 9) header, local legends Smoot Mahuti. Bringing down the house and the finale for Joplin's 150th birthday, these members have been major players in the Joplin music scene since Joplin's Centennial (1973). Joining them will be the LARRY SMITH GROUP, ENCORE featuring Hank Rotten, and SOUTHERN FRIED.
The Amphitheater, Landreth Park. Free concert.
Food Trucks and the United Way of Southeast Missouri Midway open at 3:00, and the Beer Garden at 5:00. Music starts at 5:45. Lawn seating.

Ben Miller, Doug Dicharry, and Scott Leeper are reuniting to bring Joplin's original sound - Ozark Stomp - to The Amphitheater in Landreth Park, Joplin. The Ben Miller Band Reunion will headline the Friday portion of ROCK STOMP, Joplin Local Legends Concert Weekend.

The opening night of the finale of Joplin's 150th Celebration will also feature TOTOJOJO, TownHouseFire, and Vagabond Grove.

Friday, September 8th. Free concert. Food Trucks and the United Way Midway open at 3:00. Beer Garden at 5:00. Music starts at 5:45. Lawn seating.

Since Joplin’s Centennial in 1973, the community has evolved and improved with the times. 50 years later, popular music, like our community, has progressed.

Joplin still rocks and stomps with a vibrant music scene.
Over the past five decades, local and regional musicians and bands have found a special place in our hearts -- long live the garage band! The final event of the Joplin 150th Celebration (1873-2023) will reunite local bandmates who may no longer formally play together but whose past performances have left lasting memories in the hearts of many.

As a finale for the year-long Sesquicentennial, the Joplin Celebrations Commission, with Freeman Health System, presents a two-day festival concert…
ROCK STOCK: Joplin Local Legends Concert Weekend.

September 8 & 9, at The Amphitheater in Landreth Park, 905 N. Murphy Blvd, Joplin.

Friday night will focus more on the music of the 90s to today, whereas Saturday night will reflect on the music of the 70s and 80s.

In addition to the entertainment, there will be a beer garden hosted by Daybreak Rotary, an opportunity for the public to meet with area not-for-profit organizations led by the United Way, and a selection of local food truck cuisine.

Food trucks and exhibitors will open at 3:00, with the staged entertainment from 5:30 to 11:00 p.m.
Lawn chair and blanket seating.
