Since Joplin’s Centennial in 1973, the community has evolved and improved with the times. 50 years later, popular music, like our community, has progressed.
Joplin still rocks and stomps with a vibrant music scene.
Over the past five decades, local and regional musicians and bands have found a special place in our hearts -- long live the garage band! The final event of the Joplin 150th Celebration (1873-2023) will reunite local bandmates who may no longer formally play together but whose past performances have left lasting memories in the hearts of many.

ROCK STOCK: Joplin Local Legends Concert Weekend.
September 8 & 9, at The Amphitheater in Landreth Park, 905 N. Murphy Blvd, Joplin.
Friday night will focus more on the music of the 90s to today, whereas Saturday night will reflect on the music of the 70s and 80s.
In addition to the entertainment, there will be a beer garden hosted by Daybreak Rotary, an opportunity for the public to meet with area not-for-profit organizations led by the United Way, and a selection of local food truck cuisine.
Food trucks and exhibitors will open at 3:00, with the staged entertainment from 5:30 to 11:00 p.m.
