The Johnston Fire Department provides Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Material Mitigation, Technical Rescue, Fire Prevention, and Public Education in the Town of Johnston, RI The Johnston Fire Department is a highly trained, career department committed to minimizing and preventing the loss of life and property to the residents, businesses, and visitors of the Town of Johnst

on, Rhode Island. We accomplish this through professional, high-quality, efficient response in the areas of Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Materials Mitigation, Fire Prevention, and Public Education. Service is provided at the highest level of professionalism by 93 firefighters who staff 12 pieces of fire apparatus, which are distributed throughout the town’s 4 fire stations. The Johnston Fire Department completed 8170 emergency calls for service in 2022. COMMAND STAFF:

The Johnston Fire Department has another life-saving tool at its immediate disposal if firefighters find themselves in a life-threatening situation.

Everyone recently completed bailout training and each carries a bailout kit into structure fires in case their only option is to bail out of a window.

Firefighter Chris Brandmeier and Johnston Fire Lt. Don Roberts have been training the members of the department through their company, Odyssey Occupational Training LLC.

Battalion Chief and Training Officer Will Fish explained the training is done in two parts, classroom and practical.See commnets for the story.

Identified as Rayne Medina (14 years old), described as a white female 4’11” - 5’ in height and 105-110 lbs, she has long dark straight hair, always carries a black Nike backpack last seen wearing gray New Balance sneakers, she does have several piercings in each ear and a nose ring.

With deep sorrow, Johnston Fighters, Local 1950 announce the passing of Retired Deputy Chief Clayton Quick, Local 1950's first President, a Great Man, who along with 7 other Charter Members, were instrumental in forming this Local 56 years ago this month. We will be forever grateful for the hard work Clayton did back in 1970 to form the foundation of what this Local is today. Please keep the Quick family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We will post the information on arrangements when it becomes available.
