Childplace, Inc. Childplace, Inc. is a not-for-profit agency established in 1966, providing multiple treatment options for children and families in Southern Indiana.

Foster Care Services works with licensed foster homes within the surrounding communities of Jeffersonville, IN. Trained foster parents, under the supervision of Childplace, provide a safe environment for children who have special needs or who have been subject to abuse or neglect. We Strive To:
• Utilize healthy patterns of discipline while
primary relationships are mended
• Encourage sp

iritual growth
• Provide respite care and step down
services
• Have Case Managers on call 24 hours per
day 7 days a week
• Utilize intensive case management to
maintain contact with parents,
caseworkers and foster parents

Services Available to Clients:
• Individual and Family Therapy
• Group Therapy
• Psychological Evaluation
• Drug and Alcohol Assessment
• Psychiatric Support

A few of our foster families have created “calm down corners” like this one to give their kiddos a place to go when they’re feeling overwhelmed✨💙

Rather than being used as a punishment or timeout, the goal is to provide a quiet, comfortable space where kids can decompress and learn calming skills that help them regulate when their emotions are running high. Over time, these spaces can help kids learn what they need and how to communicate when they are overwhelmed.

Healthy relationships are built on four skills:

2️⃣The ability to receive care
3️⃣The ability to negotiate needs
4️⃣The ability to be comfortable being your own person

For children who have experienced trauma, these skills take time to build. They need healthy, connected caregivers who will commit to modeling and teaching these skills to them, creating a foundation for trust and healing💙

Paulette has worked at Childplace for a total of 15 years. She handles the accounting side of the business, including weekly payroll, but her most popular responsibility is keeping a well-stocked candy bowl on her desk for the kids and staff!
