Welcome to Fleet Friday! Over the next few weeks, we're going to tell you a little about our fire apparatus until we run out of trucks to talk about. If you'd like to schedule a time to come check out our trucks, you can message us here or email us at [email protected].
FLEET FRIDAY: ENGINE 241
Engine 241 is a 2012 Freightliner/Spencer pumper that carries 1,000 gallons of water. That's like showing up 20 full bathtubs to help put the fire out. Our engine is the first truck out the door on most of our incidents. It carries a lot of fire hose, air packs, hand tools, EMS equipment, and even extrication equipment, which you may know as the jaws of life.
Have you ever wondered why a fire truck shows up when you call for an ambulance? The short answer is we bring a lot of people, a lot of tools, and a big red road block with us for your safety and ours. When we get the call, it can be difficult to know exactly what we're going to at first or what we're going to need when we get there. We'd rather be prepared to help you than need to call all of our friends for help too.
