We spent the morning at the Senior Center here in Jal visiting with some of Jal’s finest citizens and listening to some of the concerns for our great city. Cindy was gracious enough to invite the candidates to speak after lunch. I have noticed one of the concerns is the moving of City Hall to the old Burke JR High building on the north side of town. As Matt White stated this morning total renovation cost will be in the ball park of $2.1 million but the city has received a grant for nearly $750,000 to offset some of our cost. This is a huge project that will greatly benefit not only the city employees, council but all citizens. Privacy is very important when dealing with most all city business & whether it be a simple water bill being paid, a phone call of a sensitive matter or executive session for the council our current office building is just too small.
Water is another major concern. I have been in contact with current council members and know that they are diligently working to drill multiple secure wells to guarantee the future of our water supply is safe. This is very important because like you know without water we cannot thrive as a community.
I will fight for what I believe to be right for Jal.
EVERYONE get out and let your voice be heard, GO VOTE March 3, 2020!!!
