Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf FRID is a member driven organization. We encourage members to be involved at all levels. There are several key positions open.

Is dedicated to advancing the practice of American Sign Language interpreting in Florida through professional development, scholarships, and community engagement to promote equity and cultural inclusion for individuals who use ASL interpreting services. Thank you to everyone who joined us on 8/1/26 for our virtual “Speed Networking: From Classroom to Career” event! We had 5 experienced interpreters and 9 emerging interpreters from all around the state in attendance.

We started off by sharing FRID's upcoming events, then jumped into our icebreaker questions. Followed by a 30-minute panel and then moved into 5 rounds of speed networking (8 minutes/round).

We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsor for their incredible support in making this event a success. A special thank you to Interpreter Source for their monetary donation, which helped us provide a thoughtful gift to our experienced interpreters who volunteered the time to join us on a Saturday and a FRID membership giveaway for one lucky emerging interpreter.

Most importantly, THANK YOU to our experienced interpreters for showing up and being leaders. Ideas and sponsorship can only take an event so far; it's the people who show up that make it a success. All of their contributions truly helped create a memorable experience for everyone involved.

We look forward to hosting Speed Networking: From Classroom to Career again in Spring 2027 (in person, North & West Region) and Summer 2027 (virtually).

- Must not be an active FRID Board member.
