On Friday, 13 February 2026, USS CLEVELAND successfully conducted a Search and Rescue (SAR) swimmer dip, marking the first operational evolution for our newly qualified SAR swimmer ENS Anna Freyman. This milestone was achieved with the valued assistance of USS BELOIT. Last week several Cleveland sailors were awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and one sailor reenlisted into the United States Navy.

It is never easy to answer the call of duty, and truly remarkable to answer it again. Please join us in congratulating LS1 (SW) Sean M. Taylor in his reenlistment. We commend him and his family for their unwavering service and commitment to the United States Navy.

Secondly, late last year, numerous Cleveland Sailors were temporarily assigned to ships across the Mayport waterfront to support and enhance mission readiness. These Sailors demonstrated exceptional dedication with professionalism and unwavering Navy pride, demonstrating the Cleveland fighting spirit through their integrity to Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

Final Delivery 📦⚓️

Cleveland is the 16th and final ship of its class, marking the completion of the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship (LCS) construction phases.

Following commissioning in Cleveland, Ohio in early 2026, LCS 31 will be homeported in Mayport, Florida. She will support forward presence, maritime security, sea control, and deterrence in key operational theaters.

Proud to share that members of the USS Cleveland crew had the honor of participating in this weekend’s Salute to Service events in Cleveland. 🇺🇸⚓

From connecting with the community to representing the Navy at multiple events across the city, our sailors showed exactly what professionalism, pride, and service look like. Their presence made a meaningful impact, and Cleveland welcomed them with incredible support and appreciation.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped make the weekend special we were proud to stand alongside the city that shares our ship’s name.
