The Planning Council is extremely important because without it there will be NO Ryan White funding in this area. At least 33% of the Planning Council should be unaligned PLWH (Person Living With HIV/AIDS). Unaligned meaning not working for an agency that is receiving Ryan White funding.

When we provide young people with shame-free s*x education, we’re saying:

💜 I respect you
💜💜 I honor your rights as a whole and separate human
💜💜💜 I want to ensure you have the information that prepares you for safer, informed decision making
💜💜💜💜 You can count on me for honest support along the way

When a child has poor-to-no s*x education or if they’re met with a shame-based approach, these factors are what leave them more vulnerable to harmful messaging and risky experimentation. This is what causes them to seek out answers or experiences from unreliable sources, or an internet that won’t judge them.

Though many of us grew up without shame-free s*x ed, we have the opportunity to change this for children of today so they can experience healthier, safer, and more satisfying outcomes.

💥Knowledge is power, and we want young people to be really powerful.

💡If you’re not sure what to say or when to say it to support the s*xual health of a child or teen in your world, grab a copy of our best-selling book S*x Positive Talks to Have With Kids (available on Amazon, Bookshop, and direct from our site) and visit us online at s*xpositivefamilies.com. We have many resources and avenues to support you on the journey of raising s*xually healthy, informed, empowered young people 💜
