Oh how wonderful it is for brethren and sisters to worship together and proclaim: “The Battle is Already Won!” 2 Chronicles 20: 13-19.

We were truly blessed at Mount Nebo Baptist Church by the members and our longtime family friend, Rev. Dr. John Wicks, Jr., who always delivers an on POINT, POWERFUL, and PORTABLE word from the Lord.

Two are better than one; therefore, we were doubly blessed by our friend and my colleague, First Lady and Attorney Feliz Wicks, who always extends the KINDEST and SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTING welcome.

“Don’t ask me no stupid question… you know we’re going to church.”

That line from Robert M. Hopkins on *Clayton Cares* brought back memories for many of us. Not because every family had the same routine, but because so many families had some kind of foundation — a place, a rhythm, a value system, and people around them helping reinforce it.

For some, that was church every Sunday morning — and sometimes again at 3 o’clock. For others, it may have been grandparents, coaches, teachers, neighbors, or community leaders who helped shape young people with love, expectation, and accountability.

The larger message was a family-focused one: children need consistency, guidance, and connection. They need adults who show up, families who stay engaged, and communities that help carry the weight together.

It was a meaningful reminder that strengthening families is still one of the strongest ways to strengthen our neighborhoods.

Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Their courage, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and loved ones this Memorial Day weekend, let us also reflect with gratitude on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything in service to our country.

We are very grateful to have been the guests of Attorneys Vaterria and Deshun Martin of Martin and Martin Attorneys at Law this morning at Farish Street Baptist Church!!!!! We were received and welcomed in a very high spirited manner!!!!!!

An awesome message was rendered to the worshipers and graduates by Rev. Eric D. Williams with scrpture reference from Matthew 5:14-16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Thank you for your endorsement and strong support, Vaterria and Deshun!
