Spent the morning doing some spring cleaning with a Blackman TWP PS and other great voluteers for a great cause at Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.

As you know, April is child abuse awareness month. Don’t forget to wear blue this month and tag your local departments who do so much to help the cause!

As I am sure you are aware, April is child abuse prevention month. Many people in our community have been affected directly or indirectly by child abuse or child neglect and as a result have had issues in their lives.

In April, I will be spending some time volunteering with local organizations who specialize in working with victims of child abuse/neglect and their families. If you have time to volunteer fantastic! If you cannot, in turn l ask that you show support for the Police Officers, Prosecutors, Organizations, and most importantly, the victims of these crime by wearing some type of blue as often as you can throughout the month of April.

If you have social media, take a picture and tag organizations like our Public Safety Department, the your local version of the following or if in Jackson County, MI: Jackson County Child Advocacy Center, The Jackson County Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, The Michigan Department of Health and Human Service Child Protection Services, our Courts, or any other organization you feel deserves your support on this critical issue.

Thank you Mike Thomas and Blackman-Leoni Public Safety for caring for our seniors and their safety. We appreciate you taking time to put on a safety presentation for seniors.

On February 18 at 6 PM, the Township board will convene for a meeting, featuring extensive discussion and a pivotal decision regarding the new public safety director. I strongly encourage attendance to hear the administrative committee's rationale for recommending one of the four candidates and how their qualifications surpass those of the other contenders. Given the critical nature of this department, which is paramount to the community, it is essential to be informed about who will be managing it.

Effective yesterday, I began serving as your new Township trustee. I appreciate the voters who turned out to support me. Your confidence in me is truly appreciated. I look forward to upholding the high standards set by Brandon Williams and tackling the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead to benefit our community.

As we move forward, I hope you will continue to follow my page. My goal is to use this platform continue to promote our township activities and events that go into our community planning.
