Upper bear camp out
5 boys
3 adults
4 canoes
Saturday meet in pioneer at 9am. 11am launched from Pardo camp ground. $10 per vehicle.
Paddles to back of Bear river resavore
Carried gear and canoes to upper bear.
Paddled to island with a great camp site.
Fishing was great, Gabe caught his first fish. I caught 2, all were about 13-14”.
Sunday
Went exploring upper bear.
Took a shower in the waterfall north of island. We Caught 6 trout, released them all. Continued on to the back of the lake and several more fish were caught and released on the way. Camp site “Smirk”at the back of the lake with 2 pick nick tables and nice fire pit with grate, some pots and pans, and old shower. 3-4 tent sites. No fish caught at the back of the lake. Continued hiking up river and found another old campsite “Mosquito attack” with 2 ice chests chewed on by bears. Afternoon wind picked up so the canoe trip back to the island was a good workout. We were all tired some of us took naps....
