I’m grateful I found Anna and Reach Out to Horses straight out the gate as I began working with wild horses and training . I did not have to experience other method or approaches. I knew learning the language of the horse, giving them a voice and a choice , trusting that slow is fast, creating a foundation built on trust, resonated deeply! Hearing, seeing, knowing other more dominant ways to work with horses exist and are generally more common is heartbreaking. When things like this attract more attention and my mentors speak to it and shine light on it I have their back, even though it makes me Mad sad and want nothing to do with it. I’m grateful when they speak up and shine light on the darkness instead of walking away!
STOP this nonsense! You can stop this by not supporting click bait!!!
There is a video circulating right now of a horse in a pen; running, trapped, tail wringing, eyes wide, being chased by a person holding a flag. The caption calls this "training a dangerous, dominant horse." Let us be clear about what is actually being shown...
That horse is not dominant. That horse is afraid. And fear is not a training tool; it is a failure to read the being in front of you.
And it did not stop at pressure. Profanity was directed at her. Force was applied through a whip, not released until she gave in through exhaustion, not understanding. And the title over it all called a frightened, shut-down horse "dangerous" and "dominant"; a bit of clickbait dressed up as expertise, because outrage draws more views than truth does...
It is not our way to bash another trainer by name. Truth does not need a target; it needs light. But standing by while fear is marketed as training, while chasing is sold as leadership, while beings are taught that force earns trust... that silence would be its own kind of endorsement. And that, we will not do.
Read the horse, not the ego. Body language, energy, and intention speak long before force is ever needed. A horse offered clarity and safety will meet you there every time; a horse offered only pressure will only ever learn to survive you.
To every being watching a video like this and feeling that pull in your gut that says something is wrong... trust it. That instinct is the horse in you, still intact.
