For Caribbean-American Heritage Month, we are celebrating the rich, diverse traditions of the Caribbean diaspora.

One of the most beautiful lessons we can learn from traditional Caribbean culture is the profound concept of the extended village. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, and trusted neighbors would all step in to share the responsibility of guiding, loving, and caring for a child.

We’re spreading awareness about the need of positive male figures in the lives of children, because:

👨 There are close to 40,000 children in foster care in need of a family.
👨 Research shows that when kids and teens have a mentor or positive male role model, they feel more confident, are more engaged in school, and have an easier time managing their emotions.
