Welcome to the Inkster Police Department! 🚔🎓

Yesterday marked a proud moment for the Inkster Police Department as five of our newest officers officially graduated from the police academy and took the next step in their journey of public service.

These men and women have demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to protecting and serving our community. Their graduation represents countless hours of training, sacrifice, and preparation for the responsibility they now carry.

Please join us in congratulating our newest officers as they begin their careers with the Inkster Police Department. We are excited to have them on our team and look forward to the positive impact they will make throughout our city.

Congratulations, Officers, and welcome to the family! 👏🏽💙.

From the Dept of Public Services:
Please be advised we have discovered a Watermain break at Avondale and Inkster Road. There will be an active crew out working to get the water main repaired. You may experience interruptions with your water or reduced water pressure. If you experience any discolored water, please run your water for 5-10 minutes. We will be sure to keep you updated on any changes, and we ask that you please be patient while we work to resolve this issue...

Big news for Inkster!

The Inkster Housing Commission, in partnership with the Inkster Housing Redevelopment Corporation, has officially closed on the redevelopment of Demby Terrace and Parkside Estates as of April 10—marking a major step forward in expanding housing opportunities and strengthening our community.

This long-anticipated project will bring updated living spaces, infrastructure improvements, and enhanced services for approximately 315 families. It’s more than redevelopment—it’s an investment in stability, dignity, and the future of Inkster.

Leaders across the city are celebrating this milestone as a powerful example of what collaboration can achieve. With strong partnerships and a shared vision, this effort supports neighborhood revitalization, economic growth, and long-term sustainability.

Implementation begins soon, with continued updates to follow.

Inkster, MI — The Inkster community stepped into the New Year with unity and purpose as Octavia Smith of the Inkster Chamber of Commerce hosted a mile-long community walk aimed at promoting health, wellness, and togetherness.

Community members gathered at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Inkster Road, joined by local leaders including Mayor Nolen and Mayor Pro Tem Chisholm. Participants walked eastbound to John Daly before crossing over and returning to the starting point, completing the mile-long route.

Upon finishing the walk, participants were recognized with certificates of participation in appreciation of their commitment to community health and engagement.

The event was made possible through the strong support of the Inkster Fire Department and Inkster Police Department, whose presence helped ensure a safe and successful walk.

“Together, we walk in unity for a healthier city!” said Octavia Smith, reflecting the spirit and mission behind the event.

A sincere thanks to all who participated and supported this positive start to the New Year.
