CANVAS AND CONVERSATION took place again today. If your uncle, aunt, mother, father, grandmother or neighbor needs constructive activities to improve cognitive skills, this is the event for them. Our senior citizens come together to paint, enjoy healthy snacks, listen to Motown golden oldies, and fellowship. Join us every first Tuesday of each month. This municipal event improves the quality of life of our citizens.

The Sunflower County Consolidated School District (SCCSD) is "still" The Exception! Shout out to the SCCSD Executive Staff and Supt. James Waldington. The following accolades warrant honor and recognition:
1. SCCSD Pre K exceeded the state average on the KRA assessment.
2. Lockard Elementary School pass rate for 3rd Grade ELA - 84%
3. Carver Elementary School grew forth two (42) scale score points
4. Indianola Academic Achievement Center produced 17 graduates from the SCCSD Ombudsman Program
5. Indianola Career and Technical Center - 84% of CTE students earned their national certification credentials.
6. Gentry High School - pass rate for Math - 95%
