Squirrels. It can be a challenge to love them, but I don’t have any problems liking a red squirrel. They’re funny, dramatic, and seem to be on some kind of stimulant. What a joy to watch.

I took a quick trip to beautiful Toledo, Ohio last weekend with to see the migrating birds along Lake Erie. What a great area to bird! The Magee Marsh boardwalk offers a ton of opportunities to see birds at eye level.

Tufted Titmouse Dreams Big

A Tufted Titmouse visited the feeder and took on a really ambitious meal. If you eat the whole thing, it’s free! Actually, the food at the feeders is always free. But I hope he eats it all.

Dark-eyed Juncos used to be widely called snowbirds. Because in large parts of the US, they show up in the late fall, just when snow is arriving. These days, we know their real made up name, and they’re cute winter visitors
