For generations, Unions helped build America by giving working people a collective voice to negotiate for better wages, benefits, safer workplaces, retirement security and a more fair share of the wealth their work creates. Unfortunately, since the Indiana GOP enacted laws intended to weaken bargaining power in 2012, Hoosier wages grow slower than our neighboring states by nearly 3% and healthcare packages offered to workers in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio cover more than here at home. Federal policies have also put working people’s rights at risk as well. Labor Unions, simply stated, are more important today than they ever have been. This Labor Day weekend, Democrats in Perry Township celebrate what organized labor helped build – and why worker power still matters. .

Thanks to club members for hosting Jessica Bailey for a unique fundraiser targeted at covering the costs of traveling the Hoosier state on her campaign on Thursday night. It was a great success and we can’t wait to see more faces and friends at our club meeting on the 27th!
