Merritt Well Update: Things of this nature very rarely go as planned. Lol. I was on site at the Merritt well most of the day. We didn't finish the well repairs today. When we were preparing to install the new pump, new motor and new casing we sent the camera down the well again and I decided that we should clean the well while we had all of the equipment out of it. That delayed the project a little and we couldn't get it completed today. We should finish it up tomorrow. Thank you. Mayor Mike Farrar

Community Updates: Coffee with the Mayor, Parks & Recreation Public Hearing, and Water System Update

Dear Apple Valley Residents,

We would like to share several important community updates and upcoming opportunities for resident involvement.

Coffee and Donuts with the Mayor
Join Mayor Mike Farrar on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Apple Valley Town Building, 1777 N. Meadowlark Drive.

This informal gathering provides an opportunity for residents to ask questions, share ideas, discuss concerns, and learn more about what is happening in our community. There is no agenda and no formal meeting, just open conversation with the Mayor. All residents are welcome.

This event will continue on the third Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m.

Parks & Recreation Public Hearing
The Town Council will hold a Parks & Recreation Public Hearing on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Building.

Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input regarding parks, trails, and recreational opportunities in Apple Valley. Your feedback will help guide future planning and improvements, and your participation is an important part of the process. Whether you have specific suggestions, new ideas, or simply want to share what is important to you and your family, we hope you will join us.

Water System Update
The Town would also like to provide an update regarding recent reports of air bubbles in the water system, primarily affecting Apple Valley Proper.

The air bubbles are completely safe and do not affect water quality. You may notice faucets sputtering or water appearing cloudy when first poured into a glass. This is simply air in the water and will dissipate as the water sits.

During routine maintenance, staff identified the source of the air as aging components within the Merritt Well system. After inspection, crews found cracked pipe sections, worn couplers, and a small crack in the pump. These components had been in service for more than 15 years and had exceeded their expected lifespan.

All affected equipment is being replaced, and the work is expected to resolve the issue. While it may take a few days for the remaining air to clear from the system, residents should begin seeing improvements immediately.

Importantly, there are no issues with the wells themselves. Both Town wells remain in excellent condition and are fully capable of supplying the community's water needs. These infrastructure upgrades are part of the Town's ongoing commitment to maintaining a reliable and high-quality water system for residents.

On Monday, May 18th our beloved manager and friend Rick Moser passed away suddenly. To say we are devastated is an understatement. Rick has been a mentor and friend to countless numbers of people throughout his life. To many of us, he was more than that; he was family. His vision and drive are what have made this theater great for so many years. The loss we feel as a theater and as a community is profound.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his children and family during this difficult time.
There will be a Celebration of Life for all who wish to attend at our theater on Saturday, May 23rd from 9:30 – 11:00a.m.

The Town of Apple Valley is saddened to learn of the passing of former Mayor Rick Moser.

Mayor Moser served as Mayor of Apple Valley from 2010 to 2017, providing many years of dedicated leadership and service to our community. During his time in office, he worked to help guide the Town through important growth and infrastructure challenges and cared deeply about the future of Apple Valley.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. We are grateful for his years of service and commitment to the Town of Apple Valley.

Please keep the Moser family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Due to a delivery error during the recent community dumpster weekend, the Town has scheduled a make-up dumpster weekend for residents.

The dumpsters will be available on May 23–24 at the Town Building located at:

1777 N Meadowlark Dr.
Apple Valley, UT 84737

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the mix-up that occurred during the previous event. Residents are welcome to utilize the dumpsters during the make-up weekend.

Items not accepted in dumpsters are tires, liquid, hazardous waste, freon-containing appliances, and dead animals. Please have the resident contact WCSW for this type of waste. (435-673-2813)
