Cove Universal Playground

In celebration of the one year anniversary of the completion of the Cove Universal Playground, we are recognizing some of our largest donors and supporters. The committee would like to give a special thanks to Green Team and the City of Huntsville, Alabama for their support, funding, and coordination efforts to complete this project for the community. The playground is loved by so many and is a destination to play! Thank you Huntsville City and Green Team!

Hip, Hip, Hooray! The Cove Universal Playground is now open for play!

A few friendly reminders as we open our gates for use:

1) The playground is open until dusk.
2) We respectfully ask that cleats NOT be used within the gates of the playground. This will help to maintain our poured in place surfacing!
3) Please enjoy snacks at one of our many benches or picnic tables and not on the equipment. We are especially protective of our little ones with food allergies and want all to be safe! Please also use one of the many trash cans available to clean up after you've enjoyed your time at the site.
4) Issues can be reported by sending us a private message and we will happily communicate with our City partners.
5) No glass or bottles in the play area.
6) No pets within the playground area.
7) HAVE FUN!

We are quickly approaching the one year anniversary of the completion of the Cove Universal Playground. In celebration, we are highlighting our largest supporters and donors! County Commissioner Craig Hill was one our very first supporters in bringing this inclusive playspace to our community. We are so thankful we took the time to visit his office and pitch our idea for a universal playground back in 2019. Thank you Commissioner Hill!

We are quickly approaching the one year anniversary of the completion of the Cove Universal Playground. In celebration we sharing our largest donors to say thank you! The Tennessee Valley Authority was a significant contributor to funding the construction of the first phase of the playground through its grant program. Thanks TVA!

Thank you, Randolph School for sharing the sweetest group of 8th graders with us last week! We appreciated the opportunity to share how our amazing community playground came to life and loved watching these big kids enjoy it as much as the littles.

Join the North Alabama Adaptive Sports Coalition for this FREE event at the Johnson Legacy Center Sept 23. Local adaptive recreation groups will be on site to answer all your questions. All ages and abilities are welcome to try out the adaptive sports featured at the beautiful JLC (with a very cool playground!)

The new rec center and playground weren't even a glimmer of an idea back in 2013! for the amazing community resources we now have here in 2023. 🙏🙏🙏

East Huntsville has grown by nearly 66 percent over the past decade and shows few signs of slowing down. Hampton Cove is one of the fastest growing areas of Huntsville.

What a day!! Thank you to all who came out to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the final phase of Cove Universal Playground yesterday. The weather was beautiful and the company even better. We continue to give thanks to our local officials, Craig Hill, City of Huntsville, Alabama - Government, Huntsville Parks and Recreation, as well as our partners at Struthers Recreation for helping make this big dream a reality!

The playground is an incredible addition to the community and all of North Alabama and has already sparked action from community members looking to replicate the model in other parts of Madison County.
