Adults watching kids in or near water should avoid distracting activities like reading, using the phone, and consuming alcohol or drugs, because drowning happens quickly and quietly.

Hurricane season starts today. Now is the time to prepare—not when a storm is on the way.

Build your disaster supply kit, review your emergency plan, know your evacuation routes, and stay informed.

Hurricane season runs June 1–November 30. Be prepared. Stay prepared.

Today marks the first day of hurricane season, and now is the time to get prepared — not when a storm is already approaching.

Take time today to assemble your disaster supply kit with essentials like water, food, medications, flashlights, batteries, important documents, and supplies for children and pets. Being prepared now can make all the difference later.

Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Fort Bend County residents are encouraged to review emergency plans, know evacuation routes, and stay informed throughout the season.

Be prepared. Stay prepared.

Did you know June 1 - July 4 is National Fireworks Safety Month?

Fireworks are meant to light up the sky — not cause injuries. 🎆

This National Fireworks Safety Month, celebrate responsibly:

✔ Keep a safe distance
✔ Never relight duds
✔ Keep water nearby
✔ Leave dangerous fireworks to the professionals

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in 2024 alone, an estimated 14,700 people were injured by fireworks in the U.S., with burns to the hands, fingers, and face among the most common injuries.

Have fun. Stay safe. Enjoy the show!

What an incredible turnout for Investigator Mac Sosa's fundraiser today!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, purchased meals, participated in the raffle and silent auction, and helped make this event such a success. The overwhelming support shown for Investigator Sosa is a testament to the strength of our law enforcement family and community. We are grateful for every contribution and every person who came out to support him during this journey.

Please keep Mac and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Together, we stand with Investigator Sosa.

REMINDER! If you’re looking for lunch plans today, come out to support Inv. Sosa. We’ll be serving BBQ sandwiches with chips and a drink TODAY from 10:30a - 1:00p, or until sold out.

Hope to see you there!

Please join us on Friday, May 29, 2026 (tomorrow), at the “MAC SOSA BBQ, RAFFLE, & SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER” at the Gus George Academy.

Mac is a 37-year law enforcement veteran, a US Marine, and currently an Investigative Instructor at the Gus George Academy. He was recently diagnosed with cancer, and we are raising funds to offset some of the out-of-pocket expenses that are incurred during his cancer journey.

We will be serving BBQ (pork or beef sausage) sandwiches, chips, and a drink for $10 between the hours of 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, or until sold out.

Please see flyer for more information and activities.
