Marcus Anthony Merritt, Sr., 37, of Leonville, LA. A young, up and coming driven young man who, until the 4th day of January 2013 had everything going for him, or so it would seem. A beautiful family, great career in heavy construction, a home and property. Suddenly and tragically though, that beautiful life comes to an end, no one, save those closest to him, knows the reason WHY. An upwardly mo

bile young man, filled with hope and promise, would supposedly end his own life without so much as a su***de note or even the entry and exit wound from the single rifle round that was reportedly fired from .32 caliber H&R Rifle into his mouth. Everyone from law enforcement to the widow Marcus left behind contends that Marcus Merritt personally elected to take his own life. And yet he left no su***de note - something his own mother says, at the very least, he would have done, "said goodbye". What's even more weird and mysterious is that no autopsy or proper investigation into the death or the circumstances surrounding his death was ever conducted, leaving only the words and formal letters to Marcus' Mother, Royce, from officialdom with the Saint Landry's Parish Law Enforcement (State of Louisiana) Community that Marcus did indeed take his own life...

THIS PAGE, THIS COMMUNITY has been established TO SEEK ANSWERS and GET JUSTICE for the Family of Marcus Merritt, Sr. BECAUSE we do not buy into the "official" story of Marcus' untimely demise. Further, we seek and have petitioned the federal law enforcement community to INVESTIGATE the Death of Marcus A. Merritt, Sr. up to and including an exhumation and autopsy of his body, a full accounting of his personal effects - seized by law enforcement, on the day Marcus died, and never returned to his family - toxicology and other investigatory efforts to prove, incontestably, whether or not Marcus Merritt, Sr. took his own life OR was met with foul play...
