Texas private school vouchers will likely go only to low-income students or students with disabilities because the demand is far higher than the available supply, officials say.

Listening. Learning. Leading. 💛
From Governance Training where students shared how we can better support engaging, high-quality academic programs—to visiting our incredible Cy Lakes Spartans and seeing phenomenal teaching in action across choir, advanced math, English, and science… I sure miss the classroom!
Wrapped up the month at the Superintendent Fun Run, a successful event raising funds for the CFISD Education Foundation, and learning more about advocacy efforts with Raise Your Hand Texas this legislative session.
When we listen to students and support our teachers, excellence follows.

Another meaningful highlight these past few weeks was the honor of sitting alongside true educational leaders at the AAUW Luncheon, including namesakes Carolyn Spillane and Mabeline Carpenter, whose legacies continue to shape our district in powerful ways. It was equally wonderful connecting with leaders like Darcy Mingoia and Anne Vallette and celebrating the continued impact of those who have helped build such a strong foundation for our schools. 💛
Visiting the Community Resource Fair and celebrating the TORO District unveiling made this season especially meaningful. It has certainly been a busy time, and I am looking forward to my upcoming school visits because the best part of this work is being present in our schools and community.

The past few weeks have been incredible for CFISD! 💙
From CySprings Horizon Night, where students showcased their creativity and problem solving skills, to joining the Cy Fair Chamber of Commerce as they highlighted businesses across our region, it has been inspiring to see excellence on display in so many spaces.
I was also honored to speak at the AKA Cypress Chapter community town hall to share about the role of a school board member and ways our community can stay engaged and involved in supporting public education.
So grateful to serve in a district where students, businesses, and community leaders are all working together to make a difference.

Thank you to our Cypress Fairbanks ISD Police Department for keeping our schools, students, and staff safe.
