Before I became an agency owner, I was a foster parent for almost 20 years. I know firsthand what it means to open your home, your heart, and your life to children who need love, stability, and support.
During those years, there were times when I needed things that my agency simply wasn’t able to provide. I also met so many other foster parents who had the same experience. It wasn’t always that the agency didn’t want to help—sometimes the resources just weren’t available.
I NEVER FORGOT THAT.
So when I decided to open Beyond Fostering Child Placement Agency, I made a commitment to myself and to the families we serve:
I wanted to build the kind of support system I sometimes wished I had as a foster parent.
That commitment is the reason behind our Beyond Fostering Closet & Resource Center. ❤️
We want our foster families to know that they are not doing this alone. Groceries are expensive. Gas is expensive. Household necessities add up FAST—especially when you’re caring for additional children.
If we can help provide food, clothing, shoes, toiletries, household necessities, school supplies, baby items, and other resources, that’s one less expense our families have to worry about.
I’d rather see our foster parents use those extra dollars to put a child in dance, football, cheer, music lessons, tutoring, summer camp, or another extracurricular activity. Take them on a family vacation. Create memories. Let them experience new things. Give them opportunities that remind them that foster care is only part of their story—it does not define their future.
Beyond Fostering was built from EXPERIENCE. It was built from NEED. And most importantly, it was built from LOVE.
I have sat on the other side. I know what foster parents need because I was one.
Our Closet & Resource Center isn’t just a room filled with items. It’s one of the promises I made to the foster families who would one day trust Beyond Fostering to walk alongside them.
We want to go BEYOND placing children in homes—we want to support the entire foster family. 💙
Because when we support the family, we strengthen the home.
And when we strengthen the home, our children have an even greater opportunity to thrive.
