This is what Amaanah is about.
At Amaanah, we believe that when a community wraps around a young person with genuine love and commitment, extraordinary things happen. Bah’s story is proof of that.
When Bah came into our lives, he needed more than just a helping hand, he needed people who would show up, stay consistent, and refuse to give up on him. The Amaanah community did exactly that. A support team came together around him, providing a home, financial guidance, mentorship, and most importantly, their presence. Coaches, families, donors, and friends all played their part.
The Amaanah Lions were a huge part of his journey, giving him a team to belong to, a standard to rise to, and brothers to grow with. The Lions program exists because of the tireless dedication of coaches and volunteers who pour themselves into these young men year after year. Bah is one of many whose lives have been shaped by it.
Today, Bah is a student at Texas A&M University - Victoria, competing for the Jaguars soccer team. The same kid who was finding his footing is now playing college soccer, managing his own life, and building a future that belongs entirely to him.
This is not a one-off miracle. This is what Amaanah does, quietly, consistently, year after year. If you’ve ever wondered whether your contribution makes a difference, look at Bah.
