It's a 24-hour hotline. To schedule a time for donating new or used items, please call our business line at 281-338-7600. BATP serves Harris, Chambers, Northern Galveston, Eastern Brazoria, Fort Bend, and Montgomery Counties. While these are our service areas, we will provide services to anyone in need. Earlier this week, member of our BATP staff joined community partners, officials and representatives from 14 other organizations for the Early Childhood Resiliency Grant Brunch and Learn, hosted and sponsored by the Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council!

The purpose of the ECR Grant allows for organizations like Bay Area Turning Point to provide resources for families through promoting healthy early childhood development and assuring families who are a part of vulnerable communities have access to childcare, workforce development, parent education, family support, and trauma-informed services.

Thank you to HCDVCC for supporting Bay Area Turning Point through such a meaningful and impactful grant as we continue to serve survivors in our community.

August is Bystander Awareness Month.

The bystander effect happens when a crisis is happening but individuals are less likely to intervene or reduce harm.

However, when we don't speak up or do something when someone is going through crisis, that could put them in more danger.

Today, hundreds of students returned back to the classroom and many more are getting ready for the first day of school.

Early this month with the help of our community partners, we were able to provide school supplies for families of survivors to prepare them to head back to school.

We are incredibly grateful for partners like Openland CU for thinking of us by donating much needed supplies for the students.

The path to safety for survivors is often not a straight path with easy solutions once they head out the door.

For many survivors, the risks of leaving come with more barriers including financial strain, no shelter, no housing support and for parents leaving with their kids, a lack of childcare can also put a strain on them.

At Bay Area Turning Point we are determined to walk alongside survivors to overcome these barriers to recieve the support they deserve.

Abuse does not discriminate, and individuals with disabilities are at a higher risk for homicide than individuals without disabilities.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the most common perpetrators of violence against women with disabilities.

These individuals also face barriers of reporting due to fear of not being taken seriously or because their abuser is also their caretaker.

Everyone deserves the right to feel safe and the right to seek justice.
