General information

Meet Drea: First and foremost I want to thank you so much for being a part of the PWC family. My name is Andrea, please call me Drea; and I am the Executive Officer of PWC. This page was created for wives and girlfriends of incarcerated husbands and boyfriends. It slowly grew to where we have wonderful mothers accompany us. Having others to talk to and build relationships with help while we wait is the idea set for PWC. We all have our own paths but walk in similar shoes. We hold it down for the one we love. That’s our inmate. If one of us feels alone we can get online and post something and one of the PW’s will be there to respond to you and help you through. This page helped me realize I am not the only one out here in the world going through this. Here we don’t judge, we listen; and assist the best way we know how. I encourage you to ask questions, meet and greet fellow prison wives or girlfriends; as well as, mothers. I like to converse about any and everything. I like to bring about actual subjects of our daily lives, as well as; positing motivational and inspiring words because it’s hard doing what we do. We are strong and sometimes we need that extra umff to get us through the day or to that next phone call, mail day; or visit. Lacee Padron and Lindsey Short, are my Co. Pilots; here on PWC. These two ladies are very knowledgeable and I love to have them on my team. I love what has become of PWC and I hope it helps others, just like it has helped me. Thank you for your interest and I encourage you to stay involved. Here is a little bit about me: I am a mother, wife, sister, and daughter of the most wonderful people in this world. My husband is currently incarcerated. I take my vows seriously and I will love and respect my husband and daughter through this time. I work in the Accounting and Workforce Development field in Houston. I created PWC to help myself out at first. I felt like I was alone in this situation in regards to my husband being incarcerated. He is my world along with my daughter. She is 11 years old and going on 30, she is the best; truly. I started this page with only a handful of prison wives and girlfriends, now we have several mothers on this page. We together converse about experiences and real life situations…..things that we have gone through. Just like they say it’s good to make friends with a married couple when you get married. It’s good to make friends with a faithful, honest, loyal, committed, truthful, PW/PG/Mother, when you become a prison wife. We go through it and some of us will have advice on how to survive this. We may have the words of encouragement you need when you feel like giving up and the wait seems unbearable. Every day that passes is another day closer to our inmates coming home, until thenl; we are here to help. For more of a private environment please see StayinTru on facebook. Meet Lacee: I want to tell you personally thank you for being a part of PWC. Having a support system while your loved one is incarcerated can be very beneficial. I realized this now during my husband’s current incarceration. While online I met Drea, who created her own personal page of prison wives. She brought real topics to the table on a daily basis. I was intrigued at how many women, including myself, were literally waiting on roll call, to start our days with something motivational, funny, informative, or even problematic; all circling the principle of living our lives with our husbands or boyfriends locked up. After many hours and days of chat Drea and I realized that we both had a lot in common and shared a great deal of knowledge. We decided to partner up and build PWC from the ground up. My role in PWC varies. While Drea is primarily in the front meeting and rallying support, and I am more in the foreground creating and working on member information, catalogs/flyer, mail outs, tshirts, and greeting cards. Though Drea and I work great independently, we both consult with each other regularly rotating tasks and duties, thus forming a true team of leadership. We have great goals and ideas ahead for everyone to partake in. We encourage everyone to be involved! Its been wonderful getting to know about each of you, here is something about me. I live in the South Houston area. I am a wife and mother to an 11 year old son. My husband is currently incarcerated. I work in the banking industry. I work part time on an inmate business. I have volunteered for Junior Achievement, The Pasadena Rodeo, and The parks and recreation department. My personal goal is to offer support to women in my situation. I look forward to co-hosting upcoming events and getting to meet as many of you as possible in person. Please feel free to contact me any time! Talk to you soon!
