NWFRW members are busy and engaged, serving as delegates, at the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) convention being held this week at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Delegates have arrived from every corner of Texas to participate in determining the policies and priorities that will influence the 90th Legislative Session.

From committee meetings and grassroots engagement to special events, speakers, caucus meetings, and reunions with friends from across the state, NWFRW is involved, learning, and contributing.

NWFRW welcomed Jennifer Hohman to the June 8th general meeting today as the guest speaker. She brought truly insightful and powerful information to the club concerning human trafficking. As a passionate anti-trafficking advocate, she is the founder of four organizations: Fight for Us, Houston Area Against Trafficking (HAAT), The Houston 20, and the former Oil and Gas Trafficking Awareness Group/ OGTAG. Members, guests, elected officials, and candidates were all impressed by her work in promoting legislation to thwart this major societal concern.

NWFRW also presented the 2026 Priscilla Petty Scholarship recipient, Aubrie Austin, to the members and awarded her a check for $1,500. She graduated as valedictorian of Tomball Memorial High School and will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall. This is just one way that NWFRW continues to support the community along with the club’s primary mission of getting Republicans elected to office.

There will be NO meeting and NO newsletter in July, as NWFRW breaks for summer. Plan to join us on Monday, August 10th, with the Republican candidate for CD 38, Jon Bonck, as the guest speaker. He will bring important information about his campaign and the mid-term election in November.

NWFRW proudly welcomes Jennifer Hohman to the June 8th general meeting as the guest speaker. As a passionate anti-trafficking advocate, she is the founder of four organizations: Fight for Us, Houston Area Against Trafficking (HAAT), The Houston 20, and the former Oil and Gas Trafficking Awareness Group/ OGTAG, each playing a pivotal role in combatting human trafficking in Houston. Sadly, Houston ranks #1 for s*x trafficking among the cities in the United States, and each year a staggering 313,000+ victims are s*x trafficked in Texas. Adults and children are exploited for s*x and labor repeatedly.

In addition to her work with combatting human trafficking, Mrs. Hohman oversees Baker Construction’s information and technology team. In this role, she channels nearly 30 years of experience in global business operations, program management, and technology solutions toward executing Baker’s strategic technology roadmap to create a competitive advantage for both Baker and its clients. Jennifer was also the recipient of the March 2024 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award - an acknowledgement of her work and unwavering dedication to the crucial mission of combatting human trafficking. She will share information to help us better understand that human trafficking occurs in all areas, suburban and rural, and has no socioeconomic, cultural or gender barriers.

Mark your calendars, make your reservations, and bring a friend to this important meeting to become better informed and more aware of the presence of human trafficking in the Houston area as well as how to recognize it, report it, and help victims of it.
