🌧️ Tropical Storm Edouard Update

The City of La Porte OEM continues to monitor Tropical Storm Edouard as it approaches the Upper Texas Coast today.

For La Porte, the primary concern remains periods of heavy rainfall that could lead to localized street and flash flooding. Gusty winds may also occur within stronger rain bands.

Residents should remain weather aware throughout the day, monitor the forecast, and check roadway conditions before traveling. Never drive through flooded roads or around barricades.

OEM personnel will be monitoring conditions from the EOC throughout the day and coordinating with City departments and regional partners as needed.

Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

Potential Tropical Cyclone Five has strengthened into Tropical Storm Edouard, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.

At this time, no changes to City operations are anticipated. City crews and Emergency Management will continue monitoring weather conditions and roadways, and any impacts to City services will be communicated through AlertLP.

πŸŽ₯ Hear the latest update from Mayor Rick Helton.

Please stay weather-aware, allow extra time for travel, and never drive through flooded roadways.
