NEW THIS YEAR: Tug-of-War Challenge 💪

This year, National Night Out is introducing a Tug-of-War Challenge, giving residents the opportunity to join West U first responders for a friendly competition.

Who will have the strength to come out on top?

Residents interested in participating should line up at the DJ booth at 6:40 p.m. on the night of the event.

The challenge will take place toward the end of the evening, so come out, enjoy everything National Night Out has to offer, and stick around to see who comes out on top!

Tropical Storm Edouard Update! 🌧️

The City of West U is continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Edouard as it makes landfall along the upper Texas coast.

Here’s what you need to know:
🌧️ Rainfall: 1-3 inches of rainfall for areas west of Houston, including West U.
🌩️ Timing: Trajectory shifts could bring lingering storms overnight into Wednesday morning.
✅ City Services: At this time, the City does not expect any changes to its operations or services.

Quick Precaution Checklist:
- Turn off or reschedule your irrigation system.
- Secure loose outdoor items (trash cans, patio chairs, tools) so they don't block drainage inlets.
- Park vehicles in your driveway or garage, NOT on the street.

National Night Out is getting bigger! 🚔🚒

West U first responders are getting ready for the annual National Night Out Community Block Party on Tuesday, October 6, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Colonial Park.

This year will feature more activities, more vendors, more food, and more fun for the whole family. Residents can look forward to additional bounce houses, children’s activities, food trucks, vendor booths, a DJ, face painting, a balloon artist, a Paw Patrol photo opportunity, and the chance to explore first responder vehicles up close.

There’s something new this year that you won’t want to miss: a Tug-of-War Challenge featuring West U first responders and event participants! 💪

National Night Out is all about bringing residents and first responders together while promoting safety, crime prevention, and community connection.

📬 The City has mailed postcards to utility customers who had an unpaid balance as of August 24. While late fees are currently not being assessed, customers are encouraged to make their payments promptly to avoid receiving a delinquent notice.

❗ Customers must create a Utility Access (UA) account to enroll in autopay and save payment methods. Previous payment methods did not transfer to the new system.

📱 To create your UA account, or to use the UA Quick Pay feature, customers must have access to their email along with their new Account Number (six digits) and new Customer Number (eight digits). The account and customer numbers are located near the top of the statement.
