Big news, West U! 🏀

Basketball hits the Rec Center starting June 1, with a pilot program running through September 30. Play takes place in the racquetball court, while the other court stays dedicated to racquetball and squash!

Residents can join in for free with a membership, with daily rates available for non‑members and guests. Members can book court time ahead, but spontaneous shoot‑arounds are totally welcome on a first‑come basis.

🚔 Introducing the West University Place Teen Citizen Police Academy 🚔

The West U Police Department is excited to launch a new program designed to give high school students an inside look at law enforcement through hands-on and interactive experiences within the West U PD.

Participants will explore areas such as patrol operations, investigations, crime scenes, 9-1-1 dispatch, court proceedings, and more while learning directly from officers.

The Teen Citizen Police Academy will take place July 27–31, 2026.

Applications open June 15, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.
