Fellow Wichita County Residents:
My name is Lee Harvey. I am running for Wichita County Commissioner, Precinct 2. I was born in Electra and have lived in Wichita County for more than 40 years. My wife Debbie and I have been married 41 years, and we have three grown children and three grandchildren. We have always been active in our community through personal involvement as well as encouraging
others to come together to work for a common cause. I simply believe in serving others. It's what I've done most of my adult life. I proudly adopted the 459th Flying Squadron at Sheppard Air Force Base. I'm an active board member of the Senior Citizens Center of Burkburnett and The Burkburnett Legacy Foundation, which is an extension of the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation. I am founder and president of the Red Neck Culinary Academy and a member of The Burkburnett Lion’s Club. In the past I have been affiliated with the Jaycees, Burkburnett Sertoma Club, Burkburnett Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Boy’s Little League, Girl’s Softball Association, and Grace Ministries. I am especially proud to have been instrumental in a fundraiser that raised $20,000 to update the girl’s softball facilities at Burkburnett High school and raised more than $165,000 for the counties' Senior Citizens centers. I guess you could say I am a “self-made man”. As a young man I started as a welder’s helper and worked my way up to welder, foreman, supervisor, project manager and finally General Manager of Turnarounds and Maintenance-Gulf Coast for the Timec Group of Companies. The various positions I held over the years as I advanced in the business gave me the opportunity to learn how to work with and eventually manage others and to execute multi-million dollar projects. My position required a high level of planning, scheduling and managing people as well as working closely with human resources, risk management, budgets, payroll and liability issues. A good portion of my time was devoted to our clients to stay within their codes as well as Federal agencies such as OSHA. During this time I became involved with a variety of safety councils in Texas and beyond. I now own my own business which is based in Burkburnett. My wife, Debbie, is my partner and Vice-President of our companies. I believe my work and public service history prepared me well to serve our County as Commissioner for Pct 2. Having worked closely on several occasions with SMAC (Sheppard Military Affairs Committee), I know how vital Sheppard Air Force Base is to our whole County, and we must do everything possible to protect our Base. I appreciate your consideration and ask you to vote for me for your County Commissioner, Pct 2. Thank you,
Lee Harvey
