Attending the Binational Board of Directors meeting in Washington, Day 1, I found the discussion with Minister Ernesto Acevedo, Economic Attaché at the Embassy of Mexico, very informative as he reviewed Mexicos outlook. Currently, where do we stand with the USMCA? What responsibilities do we have as partners? It's crucial that we preserve and protect the progress we've made. Our CEO, Al Zapanta, emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration and fostering trust amidst uncertainty. We will provide further updates after Day 2.

Meet Carolina Arenas one of our newest members 🎉

She is a first-generation Colombian American, born and raised in Queens, NY. She relocated to Houston in 2011 with her husband, where they are raising their two sons.

She holds a B.S. in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College and an M.S.W. in Geriatrics from the University of Houston.

After 8 years in healthcare and becoming a mother of two, she transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding Poder Hispano, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on cultural preservation and community engagement.

The organization’s signature event is the annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival, returning October 3, 2026, celebrating its 5th year of culture, community, and connection. 🤝📈
