Texas House Republicans delivered one of the strongest education agendas in state history last session, making record investments in public education while expanding opportunities for students from the classroom to their careers.

But funding was just the beginning. We passed landmark reforms to improve student outcomes, empower parents, support teachers, strengthen school safety and expand higher education opportunities.

Together, these achievements are helping make Texas a national leader in education and opportunity.

It was great to join Representatives Dennis Paul and Terri Leo Wilson at the Clear Creek Republican Women’s luncheon.

We had the opportunity to look back at the work accomplished during the 89th Legislative Session and, more importantly, look ahead to the priorities that will shape the 90th.

I always appreciate the opportunity to visit with engaged Republican women in our community and hear directly from the people we represent.

I was proud to join Governor Greg Abbott, U.S. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink, Lt. General Douglas Schiess, and Texas Space Commission Chair Gwen Griffin for the announcement of a major milestone for Texas and our nation’s security.

The Texas Space Commission has secured a Partnership Intermediary Agreement with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory that will strengthen collaboration between our military, universities, and private industry while advancing next-generation space technologies that support the U.S. Space Force.

Texas is leading the future of space innovation, and I’m proud to help ensure our state remains at the forefront of strengthening America’s national security, growing high-paying jobs, and advancing the technologies that will shape the future.

A reminder for families preparing for the new school year: Texas’ Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs August 7–9.

Most clothing, footwear, school supplies, and backpacks priced under $100 qualify for the sales tax exemption. I hope this tax relief helps families as they check off those back-to-school lists.

It’s also a great opportunity to support the local businesses that serve our community year-round. Every purchase made close to home helps strengthen our local economy.
